Kirinari officially opened its Hoffmann Road day program centre in Thurgoona on Wednesday 07 October 2026, celebrating the occasion with customers, families, the community, and staff.

Kirinari took over the purpose-built centre in September, working closely with Aspire Support Services to ensure a smooth transition.

“As soon as we heard the site faced closure, we didn’t hesitate because we know the importance of this facility for our regional community and local NDIS participants,” Kirinari Chief Executive Diane Lynch said.

The centre supports around 110 people, and participants from Kirinari’s Catherine Crescent day program are also starting to use the service.

Ms Lynch said Kirinari’s promise to customers from the outset was that the services and support they received would continue, in a place that feels familiar, with the friends and connections that matter to them.

“By ensuring Hoffmann Road continues to operate, we’ve helped participants keep their routines, attend the same location, and be supported by many of the same staff members they know and trust,” Ms Lynch said.

“It means the place that they call home and the place where they go to socialise with their friends remains, which is so important for their care.”

Kirinari is investing in the long-term future of Hoffmann Road as a specialised hub for disability support and inclusion in the Albury-Wodonga region.

“People with disability in our community deserve high-quality support where they can learn and thrive, close to home. Purpose-built sites like Hoffmann Road help us deliver this,” Ms Lynch said.

“There was a great deal of excitement and happiness when people started to understand that not only were we going to continue to support what was already here, but we were looking to do more.”

The Federal Member for Farrer, David Farley MP, and the NSW State Member for Albury, Justin Clancy MP, both spoke at the event.

Kirinari’s group day programs help people build skills, confidence, independence and friendships through activities including woodworking, arts and music, cooking, sports and recreation, gaming and community outings.

It was particularly special to have Kirinari customers cut the ribbon, alongside Kirinari Chair, Jan Wyatt-Brown.

“We thank our customers and their families, our staff at Hoffmann Road and Catherine Crescent, and everyone who joined us to celebrate this milestone,” Ms Lynch said.
