Kirinari Reconciliation Action Plan

Working with First Nations Peoples to build relationships, promote respect, and develop opportunities that will advance the cause of reconciliation.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are the Traditional Custodians of the lands on which we live and work, holding a unique and enduring place in Australia. Their histories, traditions and knowledge, drawn from the world’s oldest continuous living cultures, enrich our communities and strengthen our shared future.

Reconciliation is grounded in truth-telling, respect and the sharing of histories and cultures. It is about building strong, genuine relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Indigenous Australians so that together we can create positive change that benefits everyone.

At Kirinari, we are committed to creating a culture of respect, inclusion and meaningful action in support of reconciliation. Kirinari’s Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP), endorsed by Reconciliation Australia, provides a framework for strengthening our relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities, building cultural understanding across Kirinari and identifying meaningful opportunities for inclusion.

About our RAP

Our Reflect RAP provides a foundation for how we deepen relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, grow our cultural understanding, and create meaningful opportunities for inclusion across Kirinari and the communities we serve.

Supported by the Kirinari Board, our RAP Working Group will help guide the implementation of our RAP and support the organisation to progress the actions and commitments we have made. Our First Nations Advisory Group will continue to provide guidance and ensure Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander voices, lived experiences and perspectives remain central to this work.

Our Reflect RAP is an important first step in our reconciliation journey, but it is not the destination. It provides an opportunity for us to listen, learn, build stronger relationships and take meaningful action. Through shared ownership and continued learning, we will work towards embedding reconciliation into the way we work and the way we connect with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities.
